Playful funky grooves and dance beats with synthetic keyboard sounds on the one side; balladic soul singing and harmonic clusters based on intense melodies on the others side make up our concerts. We are enthusiastic about composing and convincingly performing music that reveals our way of being friends and music companions for years so improvisation and a close contact to the audience is as essential to us, as a profound dynamic within the songs, that are narrations of our daily dreams, visions, egos, lives and our search for self-fulfilment.

We – Anja Engel (voc), Tobias Thiele (keys), Robert Saling (drums) and Karina Piersig (bass) - want to represent the name Fosbury Flop in the best way possible, meaning; we are mastering our high jump with a soft landing.

fOSBURY fLOP kommen aus Potsdam – mit Sprungkraft, Sprintfähigkeiten und Ausdauer auf ruhigen Strecken- ganz dem sportlichen Namen entsprechend. Denn ein Fosbury Flop ist ein Hochsprung. Locker leicht sieht es aus, wenn man damit hochgesteckte Ziele überwindet. So springen Karina Piersig (Bass) und Robert Saling (Schlagzeug) in grooviger Rhythmusgruppe, Anja Engel mit souligem Gesang und Tobias Thiele mit elektrisierendem Keyboard entspannt zum fOSSY fUNK.
